About
Brayden Speight, CFP®, CIM®
I'm Brayden Speight. I built Crestview Wealth because I wanted to do financial planning the way I always wished it could be done, small enough to know every client, experienced enough to handle the complex stuff, and committed enough to be here for the long arc of your retirement.
Background

My career started inside one of Canada's largest defined benefit pension plans. While studying Management Economics and Finance at Guelph, I got to learn how pension-based retirement income works. The curiosity of investing led me to one of the world's largest investment management firms in the world, where I eventually became Associate Vice-President of Sales. I spent years working to support hundreds of advisors, which gave me a deep understanding of how investment products like Mutual Funds and ETFs are built, priced, and positioned.
That foundation is what began to draw me toward working directly with clients. I then spent 3 years at a leading independent financial advisory firm doing the planning work I'd always wanted to do - retirement income modelling, pension and investment advice, business succession, estate coordination, tax strategy. I also earned my Certified Financial Planner Professional designation along the way in 2025. My journey is what Crestview Wealth is built on today.
Why I do this
Canadians deserve advice that actually answers the real questions.
I hear it all the time from the people who find their way to my door: their representative kept changing, nobody called unless it was to sell something, and nobody ever asked what they actually needed to know, when can I retire, what does my pension look like, what happens to my family if something goes wrong?
Good financial advice goes beyond managing a portfolio. Retirement surfaces conversations many couples have quietly avoided for years. I make it a point to engage both spouses equally, because a plan only one person understands isn't really a plan.
A trades business owner came to me with one question: do I have enough to retire? His equity and savings were scattered across three institutions. Nobody had connected the pieces. I coordinated the business sale, updated his investments, structured the drawdown, optimised the tax timing, and integrated his government benefits. His all-in fees dropped 1% in the process. Twelve months later, he was retired. That's what this practice exists to deliver.
What I believe
Four convictions that shape every plan.
Retirement plans should front-load your best years, and adapt as life changes.
Fees should be transparent, fair, and never create a conflict between my advice and your interests.
My job isn't just to build your plan, it's to still be there for you through every chapter.
Evidence beats prediction. Markets work, diversification protects, and costs matter more than most realise.
